When preparing a trip for parents or relatives, the important thing is that the person travelling understands the pickup point, time and how to make contact if needed.

Prepare traveller information

Note the number of passengers, luggage and support needs. Agree one contact number for the traveller or helper. Share only information needed for the trip.

Choose an easy-to-recognise pickup point

Discuss the address and a familiar landmark. Remind your relative to check the location; if it is unclear, ask again before finalising.

Share confirmed information

Once there is an option, repeat the pickup point, time and support channel. If anything changes, make contact to check rather than assuming the trip has been updated.

Keep enough contact

Prepare a charged phone and a way to call support. Discuss special situations in advance; do not rely on an unconfirmed note.
